Newborns

Why Chiropractic for Babies?
Birth is a significant event for baby, influencing their neurological and structural development. Birth can result in their nervous system getting stuck in a state of stress (Sympathetic / fight flight). Below are just a few examples what nervous system stress may present like;
- Difficult to settle
- Uncomfortable after feeding / constipated
- Latching issues / reflux
- Head turning preference to one side / Plagiocephaly
- Sleep disturbances
- Delayed Milestones
If your baby hasn’t been adjusted since birth, it may be time to book them in with your family chiropractor.

Newborn Adjustments
We recommend getting your baby adjusted at your Mums & Bubs sessions, from as early as day one! Your baby’s nervous system is the foundation for growth, development and adaptability. From birth, their brain and body are constantly communicating, integrating new experiences and laying the groundwork for movement, digestions, sleep and immune function.
Our adjustments are gentle, specific and neurologically based; tailored to your babies needs. We utilise neuro-tonal techniques that are designed to support your baby’s developing nervous system.
Families visit us for a range of reasons, from digestive discomfort and colic to developmental concerns as well as general wellness checkups. Babies that can shift with ease between their Sympathetic (fight flight) and Parasympathetic (rest and digest) nervous system states, tend to express life both happier and healthier.

Milestones & Neurodevelopment
The first year of life is a critical window for neurological development. Chiropractic care helps ensure clear brain-body communication, which plays a key role in:
- Primitive reflex integration for motor skill development and meeting their Milestones
- Sensory processing for adapting to new environments
- Autonomic nervous system regulation for balanced rest, digestion, and growth
During your newborns Initial Visit, your chiropractor will assess for Primitive Reflexes and Developmental Milestones.

Well Adjusted Baby
A well connected nervous system looks like;
- Feeding & digestion (latching, reflux, colic, and gut motility)
- Calm & regulation (settling, sleep cycles, and emotional processing)
- Movement & coordination (tummy time, rolling, crawling, and early milestones)
- Immune & respiratory function (ear infections, congestion, and overall resilience)
